Our Charity Work

28 fidget quilts were just donated to Memory Care residents of Presidential Place in Hollywood.

Our members donate their time and materials to make quilts, totebags, pillowcases

and pillow pals which are donated to the following organizations:

North West Medical Center NICU

Chris Evert Children's Hospital at Broward General

Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital

Mary's Pregnancy Resource Center

Nancy J. Cotterman Sexual Assault Treatment Center

Childrens Diagnostic and Treatment Center

Plantation General Hospital NICU

Sister Emmanuel Hospital

Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center

While we appreciate everyone's efforts to make charity quilts, we are getting some quilts that we have a problem placing.  In order to make it easier for everyone to understand what is needed, we offer the following guidelines:
  1. Please make a quilt that you would give to someone you know. We don't care that it is scrappy, we love scrappy, but do the scraps go together?  If you are using fabrics suitable for adults, please do not add children's fabrics and vice versa.  It should be apparent if it is for an adult or a child.
  2. If it is an adult themed quilt, it needs to be at least 45 inches on all sides. These are used for lap robes and smaller ones are difficult to place.
  3. Please make happy quilts.  They are going to people who are not in the best of circumstances.  A cheerful quilt can go a long way to brighten someone's day.
We want to thank everyone who makes a charity quilt.  We are always amazed at how generous our guild is when there is a need.  Barbara and Charlotte
